Yous can best decide the management of the miter cutting by cutting the molding with the long signal oriented in the same direction every bit  your natural line of vision when y'all enter the room.

You must pre-drill nail holes in both types of wall moldings before nailing, to eliminate whatever splitting. Be certain to nail the Quarter Round into the wall or Wallbase and not into the flooring as information technology will prevent expansion and contraction of the flooring. Use Color Coordinated Putty to make full the countersunk nail heads. Silicone sealant should exist used in expansion zones in bathrooms, nearly kitchen sinks, dishwashers and refrigerators with icemakers.. Be sure when nailing, that you do not go at a downwardly angle so equally to avoid hitting the flooring and causing it to go into a bind.
